The Landes and Pays Basque International Women’s Club is a social club for women of all nationalities in the region.  We have non-profit status with the French government.

Members are welcome to participate in a range of activities led by members of the club, giving everyone the opportunity to share in lunches, apéros, afternoon teas, cooking demonstrations, handicrafts, bridge, a book group, French and English conversation, walking, cycling, a cine club and more.  Partners, family and friends are invited to social evenings and cultural visits.

The club prides itself on the welcome it gives to new members and its friendly, supportive atmosphere.  Great friendships are made and in challenging times, such as during the recent difficult and worrying pandemic years, members are there for each other.

Today, the club boasts a membership of more than 65 women of 14 nationalities. It is run by an Executive Board of : President, Deputy President, Secretary, Treasurer and five other elected officers. The Board meets six times a year to discuss LPBIWC issues and plan activities.

Membership fees are €40 per year running from September, and €20 for a half year starting from 1 March. As part of their membership, members receive a monthly calendar by email listing the activities they can sign up for that month, as well as a newsletter about club news and activities every two months.  Members are welcome to participate in all activities.

Club communications are in English, and English is spoken at activities, offering a wonderful opportunity for non-native speaking ladies to improve their fluency in the language.
