Clare Carr  President

Clare was born and brought up in Norwich, Norfolk. She moved to London where she studied and then taught at primary school, taking time out to bring up her three children. She later trained as a relationship counsellor and life coach. Having spent many family holidays in Les Landes, the dream to have a house here was realised in 2004. After her husband's retirement they made the move in 2012 and love living in Messanges, welcoming family and friends to stay.

Marielle Plummer  Secretary

French national who crossed the Channel and married an Englishman 35 years ago. She lived in London, raising four children and is now the proud grand-mother of two little ones. She started her career in banking and later became a property developer in the French Alps alongside her husband, building and interior designing chalets and two 4-star hotels. She has now peacefully retired back to her homeland, the Basque Country, where she enjoys gardening, bridge and longe-côte and warmly welcomes friends and family in her  home.

Colette Deveaux  Vice President

Native of Jersey in the Channel Isles. Dual nationality by her French mother.

Residing in the South West since 2000, widow of husband, Alain since 2020, she has a home of pleasant atmosphere in central Hossegor where would-be and confirmed Club members are welcome to enjoy a sharing of friendship.

Gitte Offredi  Membership

Born and educated in Denmark, Gitte worked
for UNICEF International Supply division, Copenhagen, before meeting her British husband. Moved to Belgium in 1988 for his work and raised their two children. Later relocated to Metz, France for work and 12 years later to the southwest. For a few years, she ran a  traditional B&B part-time—great experience meeting lots of very nice people. The spare time now is spent in the garden, and improving that golf swing. 
Since May 2022, she has been part of the
Sub-Committee trying to arrange events to aid the club's Charity.

Chris Owen  Treasurer

Chris was born and brought up (one of six children) in Lancashire. She met her husband Gwyn while at university in Birmingham and, after graduating, they moved to his home town
in Wales where they brought up their three daughters. The family spent many enjoyable holidays in France and their youngest daughter now lives in Les Landes with her two sons, which is why they decided to retire to France.

Jane Storm

Jane is from the south of England and has always had a lust for travelling the world. She left home at 18 to become an au pair in Sweden. Various career changes led her into the world of Sales Management and Sales Coaching. Her work took her to countries around Europe, Africa, South America and Russia. Jane settled in France in 2015 with her husband and joined the Ladies Club in 2020.  Her hobbies include needlework, patchwork, walking, cycling
and travel.

Ulla Harrison

Although Swedish by birth, Ulla left Sweden once her linguistic  studies at Gothenburg university were finished. She has led a nomadic life ever since while working in tourism or the leisure industry. Sri Lanka, Spain and Norway are a few of the countries she lived in with her family. Ulla is now a widow since 2004. After having lived
for 20 years in other parts of France, the ocean beckoned on retirement and she moved to the Landes two years ago w
ith her daughter.

Florence Bourgeois
 

Florence was born, bred educated and married in the east of France, Metz, to be more precise, the town where she worked as an English teacher.
She has three children, one in Soustons, another in the south east of France and the youngest one in Hong Kong.

Her main interests are cycling, golf and music. Moved to Soustons two years ago.

Got to know the club thanks to Gitte whom she met on Seignosse golf course.

Maggie Parkinson

Originally from Southend, UK, Maggie's love
of France started on a school exchange to Gers. After university (UEA Norwich), she trained as a journalist and later ran marketing departments for divisions of BT and GEC. She moved to the US to work for a startup in Silicon Valley, eventually staying more than 30 years. 
Through it all, she dreamt of one day living in France.  Finally, Brexit gave the final  push and she relocated from San Francisco to Hossegor in 2020.
