How it all Started

The Landes and Pays Basque International Women’s Club was founded in 2004 when Nicole David, pictured above, and a handful of like-minded women started organising activities for English-speaking women living in the south-west of France.
Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength to now include more than 80 members, representing 12 nationalities.
The club is organised entirely by the membership, with everyone volunteering and contributing as they can to host an event or organise an activity. Activities evolve according to the needs, wishes and expertise of the membership.
One of the club’s main goals is to welcome English speakers who are settling in the Landes and Pays Basque, helping them integrate into the French way of life and discover French culture.
The club is passionate about fostering great relationships between women from all round the world.
We love meeting new people, so do get in touch by emailing our Membership Secretary,
